Are you a veteran struggling with the adaptation to civilian life?

How can we help you?

Stepway is here to help with adaption problems that you may be experiencing.

This may be due to leaving prison and you cannot access the services/therapies that can help you adapt back into civvie street. We are here to bridge that gap, so you can lead a crime free life.

Have you found yourself in police custody and you feel like nobody understands? We are here to provide help and support with the 7- step civilian skills program, educational courses, employment skills advice, and introducing you to a mentor.

Are you leaving the armed forces and you have not received a resettlement package to help you gain employment, education or housing? Are you concerned about your future? We are here to guide and help you access the services that can help.

Are you a homeless veteran that feels there is no other choice but to commit a crime to survive on the streets? Have you dropped out of society because you feel socially excluded from civvie life? We are here to make that transition less problematic.

What is the first move? the first move?

The first step is to contact STEPWAY by either calling or texting 07539 754 457 or via the contact page. We will invite you along to our drop-in centre. This will give you the opportunity to tell STEPWAY a bit about yourself and the problems you may have encountered. At the end of the meeting we will offer you the level of support you may need. This is done in a relax atmosphere over a brew and you will be in full control over what steps you would like to take next.

What happens next? The introduction program will be attended by veterans who are going through similar experiences, so you will not feel alone or excluded. Individual programs are also available for those who find social situations stressful. There will be a small introduction to the charity and a brief about the different courses that are available. You will also be offered FREE (In-house) counselling sessions if you need a referral to the TILS program at the NHS.

How Long is the Program? Alongside the 7-Step Civilian Skills Program we will provide practical support and provide a tailored made program to enable you to engage in one of our many free educational and job skills programmes. This is spread over 12 months. You will have the opportunity to return and train as a STEPWAY Mentor. Alternatively, the door will always be open if you need support in the future.
